Hints on how to write a good abstract for GRØN DYST
The abstract for the Green Battle Student Conference is limited to one page, and must follow the instructions in the templateguide. In addition, you must also consider how to present your results to the general reader.
Here are a few useful tips to help you write your abstract:
-
The abstract must contain a title, introduction, body text and possibly illustrations and references.
-
Identify the major objectives and their conclusions – just one or two – and focus on them. In your presentation at the conference, you can go into greater detail.
-
The one-paragraph introduction must contain the main objectives/conclusions from the body text.
-
Formulate your problem formulation/hypothesis and the methods you use in a clear statement. If you wish, the body text can follow the usual theory, methods, results, discussion and conclusion format.
-
You can add a single easy-to-understand figure that visually conveys the core result(s) of your project.
-
Before you submit the abstract, ask a fellow students and your supervisor to provide feedback to ensure that the abstract reflects your work, while still making sense to the audience at Green Battle.
The judges will use both your abstract and presentation to evaluate your project.
